A downloadable game for Windows

Hi!

This is a short but pretty fun (in my biased opinion!) puzzle solving experience.

There are two main puzzles in the game currently to solve in order to escape.

Some objects in the environment can be picked up by holding the right mouse button and using them is core to solving the puzzles.

Controls:

- RMB to manipulate objects (hold to carry smaller objects)

- WASD movement

- Space technically will let you fly although truthfully this is not intentional or part of the gameplay. You will also find you cannot fly everywhere :)

- Alt-F4 or force close the app to quit (sorry there's no menus or real end game yet!)

TIPS: Look for hints in the environment as to how to solve the current puzzle. As mentioned object manipulation is required.

CREDITS: While I did most of the work in putting things together I cannot take credit for the awesome visual assets or the sound elements:

- Visual Assets: Synty Fantasy Kingdom

- Sound: Cafofo Dungeon Sounds.

Final Note: This is my first project completed using the Unreal Engine (Blueprints and C++) and while it has some potential to evolve and certainly needs some polish (main menu and end game UI at least!), it will be some time before it gets that love so enjoy it for the short experience it offers! This is also a PC only build for the time being and requires a mouse and keyboard to play.

This was an amazing little puzzle game! It looked like it was super fun to work on! I really would love to know if you personally worked on making those models or if they're from a asset pack? Cause they amazing! I loved the style of everything!

Not only that but the level design was amazing! I'm incline to assume that this is not actually your first game project because, while things were very bare bones for the time being, what was there was exceptionally placed.

You were already aware of the issues with no menus and being able to fly which do need attention, but I also noticed that the lighting, when going into dark areas of the first puzzle, would go pitch black and take a second to get back to normal lighting levels (I know Unreal kind of does this by default, I think, just needs some adjustments). SPOILER:: It was quite hard to find the pressure plate in the first area because of the lighting, or maybe you could make it stand out better with the current lighting

I think the experience would be greatly enhanced with some ambient music/sounds. They sfx already used were really high quality and were a good choice!!

Hope to see more from you!!

Thank you for this awesome feedback and the comments! :) So, you are dead on about a lot of the assumptions haha. This is not exactly my first project, just my first project using Unreal and C++. I've worked almost exclusively with Unity/C# previously but figured it would be good to get some experience in both :)

I realized as well about the Unreal lighting changes and I assume this has to do with a few things, from the low ambient light to the baking and the attenuation of the candles in that area. I would definitely have to place a couple of more candles to offset it but in a way I found that it keeps the player focused on the center of the room although perhaps it would be good to allow some inspection of the detail too :)

There is one ambient sound but it is definitely super low (it's a wind blowing, the sample is meant for a cave), but I could probably tweak that to make it seem less like a penetrating silence and also maybe find some creepy forest ambience for the exterior portion :)

I'll post a link to my Assets in the game description. I am definitely not a good 3d Modeler so the visual assets are licensed but not originals :) A lot of my visuals in my game will be from Synty as I really love their low poly art.

Thanks again for the comments and taking the time to write some thoughtful feedback, that really means a lot to me! :)
