V 1.3 Released and likely the final state for this Game Jam :)
Hi everyone,
First, thank you so much to those who have tried, played, rated or provided comments on this game :) The feedback has been amazing and invaluable in my learning experience! With that said, I believe this last update addresses any current concerns (minus one awesome suggestion to add memory playables to the pickups, which will be for another time as it will be too time consuming for now!).
Changes:
Added a toggle that will add a second Celestial Body (let's call it a moon!) in the sky at night that will make it far less dark. While not providing the light of day it will provide enough to see all of the obstacles in the level at a distance and retain some of the magic of the night time lighting. This can be toggled in the options menu either in game or at the start menu.
Improved the jumping/collision more on the player controller. The technical details: added a third raycast in front towards the feet of the player so it if you hit an obstacle with your feet you can jump again (no more getting stuck awkwardly).
Added a cell phone in Joe's hands at the start, now he is not talking to his palm!
That's it, thanks again for playing and watch for a video coming soon, and a post-mortem about development :)
